Hopefully everyone was able to make it to the polls today and at least cast a vote for Amendment One.  Although I think the state can do better, this is better than what we have currently so what do we have to loose?  You get to keep your 3% per year cap, your exemption doubles from $25,000 to $50,000, and you have the portability option!  Also for commercial property and investment property you now have a cap of 10% per year, which in our current market may not seem like much but look bacy when property values were going up 50%+ per year and investors were taxed accordingly, at least this would help curb that.  Again do I think it is the best they can do?  No, but it is a start and we can always negotiate from there.  I would love to hear some feedback from others about this topic!
